AVASTIN linked to STROKE, HEART ATTACK, DEATH

AVASTIN is used with chemotherapy to treat cancer by restricting the blood flow that would otherwise bring oxygen and nutrients to tumors. Avastin was approved by the FDA for colorectal cancer and lung cancer patients in 2004. It was granted conditional approval for use in breast cancer patients in 2008 while the manufacturer, Genentech, researched its effectiveness in breast cancer patients. After the conditional approval was granted, an FDA advisory committee recommended that the FDA withdraw its approval of use of Avastin in breast cancer patient.
In November 2011, the FDA formally withdrew its approval of use of Avastin in breast cancer patients, citing studies that suggest that Avastin does more harm than good to breast cancer patients. There are fatal side effects of Avastin, and recent studies have shown that Avastin is not proven to prolong the life of most breast cancer patients. The risks associated with Avastin include:

  • HEART ATTACK
  • STROKE
  • CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE
  • GASTROINTESTINAL PERFORATION
  • INTERNAL BLEEDING
  • KIDNEY DAMAGE
  • NEUROLOGICAL DAMAGE
  • DEATH

Avastin is still on the market for use in colon and lung cancer patients, but is no longer approved by the FDA for use in breast cancer patients because studies show that the drug has significant health risks and is not proven to extend the life of breast cancer patients.

PLEASE SPEAK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE DISCONTINUING USE OF AVASTIN OR ANY OTHER PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION.
