The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) explains that, while Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) can range from mild to severe, nearly 1.7 million Americans suffer one each year and a contributing factor to over 30% of all injury-related deaths in the United States. The informational graphic elaborates and discloses that males generally suffer more TBIs than females and that the elderly are at a significantly high risk of suffering a Traumatic Brain Injury. It indicates that the breakdown of typical causes of TBIs, as stated by the CDC, is 35% by Slip & Falls, 17% by auto accidents, 17% by collisions, 10% by being struck by an object, and 21% is unknown. The CDC reports that nearly 61% of the TBIs among those over 65 years of age are a result of a slip and fall accident.
