The Stryker hip attorneys, d’Oliveira & Associates, release a new Infographic on stryker hip replacement. The infographic provides information about Stryker hip replacement in graphic form so as to highlight the important details that one has to know about Stryker Hip Replacement. Stryker Orthopaedics manufactures and markets some of the hip replacements that you might be familiar with, such as the Rejuvenate Modular and the ABG II, which were approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in June 2008 and November 2009, respectively.

Prior to the FDA approval, in January 2008, Stryker had also issued a recall on its Trident Hip Replacement System. This has been triggered by the large number of cases or complaints filed against Striker for its Trident device. The infographic shows that in July 2012, a recall was made by Stryker Orthopaedic on two of its replacement products, the Rejuvenate Modular and the ABG II.

The infographic also emphasizes some of the common and serious side effects of the Stryker Hip Replacement, which include swelling, pain, dislocation, device loosening, fractures, metallosis, ossification, osteonecrosis, and squeaky joints.

The Iowa Orthopaedic Journal also reviewed data from around 5000 joint surgeries. The review shows that 1% of those who undergo first-time joint surgery and 3% of those who undergo a revision joint surgery die due to the surgery, so the risk is great and revision should be avoided if possible. The infographic provides a quick guide and an easy access to information to those who have been potentially affected by Stryker hip replacement. In such cases, what should you do?

The best thing to do is to consult a product liability attorney or a medical malpractice attorney, depending on the area of the defect or error. If you believe that the injury was due to a defect in the product, then you should contact a product liability attorney. On the other hand, if you believe that you or a loved one has suffered any injury from the wrongful or negligent acts of a medical practitioner, you should contact a medical malpractice attorney to make sure that you will be properly compensated of the multiple expenses that you will incur.
