Yasmin (Yaz) Side Effects

BIRTH CONTROL DRUGS linked to STROKES AND HEART ATTACKS

Yaz/Yasmin and similar birth control drugs have been linked to serious side effects, including STROKES, HEART ATTACKS, and DEATH. Yasmin was introduced in 2001 and Yaz was approved in 2006. There are also several different generic versions of this oral contraceptive that are currently on the market, including: Yasmin, Ocella, Bayez, Gianvi, Zarah, Syeda, or Loryne.
Serious side effects linked to YAZ and similar BIRTH CONTROL DRUGS include:

  • Pulmonary Embolism (PE) – A pulmonary embolism occurs when a blood clot travels through the bloodstream to the main artery of the lung. A pulmonary embolism is life threatening if not treated immediately.
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) – Deep vein thrombosis is a blood clot in a vein, most often in the legs. If left untreated, the blood clot can break loose and travel to other parts of the body, which can lead to a pulmonary embolism, stroke, or death.
  • Stroke – A stroke can be caused by a blockage in an artery, which leads to a disruption in the blood flow to the brain. A stroke can cause paralysis, loss of function, or even death.

Yaz and the similar medications listed above are once-daily oral contraceptives. They are designed to prevent pregnancy in women, but are sometimes also prescribed to treat symptoms of PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) and moderate acne. One of the key hormones in these birth control medications is DRSP (drospirenone), which increases potassium levels and can lead to serious heart conditions and death.

PLEASE SPEAK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE DISCONTINUING USE OF YAZ OR ANY OTHER PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION
