Lippit House Museum
Located on the East Side of Providence, RI, the Governor Henry Lippitt House is a historic museum and a national historic landmark. It’s also considered one of the finest examples of Victorian-era houses throughout the United States.

Built in 1839, it was used by the Providence Marine Corps of Artillery (PMCA) as an armory during the American Civil War.

Built in 1904, the tower now stands at the northwest corner of the Front Green at Brown University. Designed by architect Guy Lowell, the tower is a symbol of devotion and love from a grieving husband.

1871 Soldiers’ and Sailor’ Monument
The monument memorializes the Rhode Islanders that fought and lost their lives during the Civil War.

Swan Point Cemetery
Established in 1846 on a 60-acre plot of land, was redesigned by landscape architect H.W.S. Cleveland in 1886. This historic cemetery is the most prominent cemetery in Rhode Island due to the number of well-known citizens of the state buried there:
- Grave of H.P. Lovecraft – Final resting place of one of horror fiction writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft who’s literary stature is second only to Edgar Allen Poe.
- Grave of Sullivan Ballou – As a Civil War Union Army Officer, he served the 2nd Rhode Island Volunteer Infantry.
