BFGoodrich Tire Recall
BFGoodrich announced on Monday, August 10, 2015, that it was recalling over 100,000 of its tires that were sold in the U.S. over the last few years. Some of the tires are defective and can split along the seam where the tire meets the wheel, resulting in rapid deflation, which could lead to loss of control of the vehicle. So far, there have been no injuries or deaths related to car accidents caused by the defective tires.
Tires Affected In The Recall
The tires are mostly for use by commercial trucks and include several different models under the following three product names:
- BFGoodrich Commercial T/A All-Season
- BFGoodrich Commercial T/A All-Season 2
- BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A.
The company requests that you immediately remove the tires and have them replaced for free at any authorized dealer of BFGoodrich tires. For more information related to the recall, view the press release on BFGoodrich’s site.
You should check to make sure whether or not your tires are included in this recall, because unsafe tires are not just a danger for the vehicle they are on, but also for every other car on the road. Tires are especially vulnerable when going around corners at a high speed, such as on the dangerous “S” curves of I-95 in Pawtucket. These dangerous conditions could lead to a serious crash.
