The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces a new marketing strategy for e-cigarette vendors. This announcement comes just weeks after a federal judge ordered the FDA to look into the health effects of e-cigarettes. The judge specifically declared that the FDA acted illegally by allowing the sale of e-cigarettes without the registration of the vendors and the products being tested with the FDA. With e-cigarettes and vaping becoming an increasingly popular phenomena among youth, this is an important step to ensuring the public’s safety.

Now, the FDA is taking an active step by providing e-cigarette sellers a new marketing strategy to ensure their product is in compliance with FDA regulations. This marketing strategy also includes testing of e-cigarette products, as well as, increased observation of product labels, designs, and warnings.

E-cigarettes have become increasingly popular among teens and young adults while concerns about long-lasting health effects are going unanswered.
