Why Did California Ban E-Cigarettes?
The City of San Francisco claims the main motivation behind the e-cigarette sales ban is to prevent a future generation from becoming addicted to nicotine products. As a result, the city has banned the sale of e-cigarettes until the FDA has fully reported on the health effects it may have on the public. In addition, this ban is also a result of a recent concern of the sale of nicotine products to minors in San Francisco. Vaping has become such a fad among youth that many consider it an epidemic.
Why Are E-Cigarettes Considered Dangerous?
The initial fear regarding e-cigarettes that sparked lawsuits across the U.S. was the risk of e-cigarette explosions. In a report just last month, doctors from the Journal of the American College of Cardiology explained that different e-cigarette flavorings have varying detrimental effects on endothelial cells.
