The man was injured in a car accident when he was traveling south on Route 95 in Providence, RI and was hit when another vehicle lost control, crossed the median and struck hit his vehicle. Attorney Gouveia was able to get her client $100,000 from the driver at fault’s insurance company and another $100,000 from the client’s underinsured motorist coverage.
The client sustained soft tissue injuries to his neck and back as well as a head injury. He initially underwent physical therapy and acupuncture. He later endured invasive steroid injections for the pain in his back but showed little improvement. He then underwent surgical fusion surgery, which helped alleviate some of his pain but he still suffers daily. The pain affects his every day and overall quality of life.

We then presented an Underinsured Motorist claim against the client’s insurance company since his damages exceeded the available coverage of the Defendants. They evaluated the medical records and bills and considered the arbitration award and offered their available policy limits. Our staff negotiated the medical bills and liens and prepared a settlement package which maximized the client’s recovery. He was fortunate to have Underinsured Motorist benefits on his own personal policy in this catastrophic injury claim.”
